Tunable aryl imidazolium ionic liquids (TAIILs) as environmentally benign catalysts for the esterification of fatty acids to biodiesel fuel

Summary: In this study, six tunable aryl imidazolium ionic liquid catalysts were synthesized and successfully applied for the esterification of fatty acids to biodiesel, showing economic and reusable characteristics. With a simple post-process, the catalyst can be reused at least 6 times, offering short reaction times, excellent yields, and environmentally friendly properties.

Development of a Novel Method for Trimethylsilylation of Saccharides

Summary: This method reports the successful trimethylsilylation of carbohydrates under alkaline conditions using recyclable and efficient acidic catalyst PTA/HMDS and the novel reagent TMSOAc (TEA/TMSOAc). Unlike traditional methods, these reactions proceed in good to excellent yields without requiring column chromatography for purification.
