Edible mushroom (Flammulina velutipes) as biosource for silver nanoparticles: from synthesis to diverse biomedical and environmental applications

Summary: This study synthesized ecofriendly silver nanoparticles using Flammulina velutipes, which showed promising applications in biomedical and environmental fields. The nanoparticles exhibited high activity against drug-resistant bacteria and fungal strains, as well as significant cytotoxic potential against Leishmania tropica. They also demonstrated inhibition of alpha-amylase, alpha-glucosidase, acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butrylcholineterase (BChE), as well as good biocompatibility with human red blood cells.

Summary: This study evaluated the anti-parasitic, insecticidal, cytotoxic, and anti-Alzheimer potential of various leaf extracts of Ajuga bracteosa. The n-hexane extract showed significant activity against Leishmania Tropica and promising anti-Alzheimer activity. The insecticidal potential of the extracts varied, with n-hexane showing the highest mortality rate.urther research is warranted to explore the potential of Ajuga bracteosa as a botanical insecticide and source of anti-tumor compounds.

The nanoparticles were characterized by various techniques and showed potential antibacterial, antidiabetic, antioxidant, antiparasitic, and larvicidal properties. The synthesized nanoparticles also demonstrated excellent biocompatibility and photocatalytic activity towards degrading methylene blue dye.

Summary: The study presents a green, economic and ecofriendly protocol for synthesizing cobalt oxide and magnesium oxide nanoparticles for multifaceted biomedical applications. The nanoparticles showed high activity against multidrug resistant UTI isolates, significant larvicidal and leishmanicidal activity, as well as considerable antidiabetic, antioxidant and biocompatible properties. The biosynthesized nanoparticles can be potential candidates for various biomedical applications due to their ecofriendly synthesis, non-toxic nature and biocompatibility.

In vitro and in vivo applications of Euphorbia wallichii shoot extract-mediated gold nanospheres

Summary: In this study, the potential of Euphorbia wallichii shoot extract for reducing Au3+ and stabilizing gold nanoparticles was investigated. The gold nanoparticles showed strong antibacterial and antifungal properties, as well as significant antioxidant and analgesic effects in vivo. Additionally, the nanoparticles exhibited inhibitory effects on gastrointestinal muscular contractions in experimental mice.
