A robust dispatch model for integrated electricity and heat networks considering price-based integrated demand response

Hong Tan et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a robust dispatch model for integrated electricity and heat networks based on price-based integrated demand response (PBIDR) to address the challenges of wind power integration. The model adjusts and optimizes electricity and heat loads using a two-stage robust optimization problem and the concept of PBIDR. The effectiveness of the model is verified through testing on different scale systems.

An Advanced Machine Learning Based Energy Management of Renewable Microgrids Considering Hybrid Electric Vehicles' Charging Demand

Tianze Lan et al.

Summary: Renewable microgrids offer new solutions for improved security, reliability, and power quality in power systems by utilizing various renewable sources like solar panels and wind units. This paper proposes a machine learning approach for energy management in renewable microgrids, with a focus on modeling and estimating charging demand of hybrid electric vehicles. The results show a significant reduction in total operation cost of the microgrid with intelligent charging, compared to a coordinated scheme, along with a very low mean absolute percentage error in predicting total charging demand of HEVs.

Investigating the Impact of Economic Uncertainty on Optimal Sizing of Grid-Independent Hybrid Renewable Energy Systems

Mostafa Rezaei et al.

Summary: This study examines the economics of three grid-independent hybrid renewable-based systems for small-scale load, finding the standalone solar/wind/electrolyzer/hydrogen-based fuel cell integrated with a hydrogen-based boiler system as the best alternative. Economic uncertainty analysis shows fluctuations in total net present cost and levelized energy cost around the benchmark value, as well as changes in optimal sizes of photovoltaic and wind turbine systems. Several practical policies are introduced to address economic uncertainty in the energy sector of developing countries.

Fengyuan Yin et al.

Summary: This study focuses on optimal scheduling of reconfigurable interconnected microgrids for residential consumers, integrating renewable energy sources, dispatchable units, and energy storage systems. A novel framework based on blockchain is developed for secured data transaction, and stochastic programming is used to find the optimal scheduling plan, resulting in reliable, economic, and secure power supply. Social-economic factors are considered to minimize operating costs and enhance social factors through optimal switching, while an effective CCS algorithm is deployed to find the most optimal operating point for microgrids. The proposed model is tested on a practical residential interconnected microgrid, showing reduction in operation costs and energy not supplied, validating the quality and functionality of the framework.
