An augmented representation method of debris flow scenes to improve public perception

Weilian Li et al.

Summary: Virtual scenes can enhance public disaster perception, but current methods for constructing debris flow disaster scenes have deficiencies in considering public knowledge and enhancing semantic information while emphasizing visual effects.

Geosites Inventory in Liguria Region (Northern Italy): A Tool for Regional Geoconservation and Environmental Management

Andrea Ferrando et al.

Summary: This study proposed a list of 120 geosites in the Liguria Region, assessing their value and degradation risk. The results can serve as the basis for establishing a regional inventory of geosites and can be useful for implementing regional geoconservation strategies or environmental management plans.

GIS-Based Landslide Susceptibility Mapping for Land Use Planning and Risk Assessment

Anna Roccati et al.

Summary: In this study, a GIS-based approach and AHP method were used to assess landslide susceptibility in the Portofino promontory based on over 110 years of landslide records. The findings suggest that areas at risk of future landslides are larger than identified in the official map, highlighting the importance of considering potential landslide hazards in land use planning and risk management strategies.

Current trends and future directions in quantitative geodiversity assessment

Jake R. A. Crisp et al.

Summary: Geodiversity assessment is at an early stage of development and consolidation, with a need for improving methodologies and research levels. Results from the study show that about 50% of publications independently assess geodiversity, 32% discuss or review geodiversity while mentioning potential links to biodiversity, and 12% strongly link geodiversity assessment to biodiversity assessment.
