Symptoms of central sensitization in patients with inflammatory bowel diseases: a case-control study examining the role of musculoskeletal pain and psychological factors

Summary: The study found that as a whole, IBD patients exhibited greater symptoms of central sensitization compared to healthy controls. However, IBD patients with persistent MSK pain showed the most severe symptoms of central sensitization. Group differences in CSI among IBD patients with MSK pain were not confounded by psychological features.
