Towards a complete mass spectrum of type-IIB flux vacua at large complex structure

Jose J. Blanco-Pillado et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the tree-level mass spectrum of type-IIB flux compactifications at Large Complex Structure, focusing on models with a reduced one-dimensional complex structure sector. The calculation shows that the masses of this set of fields are naturally heavy at vacua consistent with the KKLT construction, and discusses phenomenologically interesting scenarios where the spectrum involves fields much lighter than the gravitino. The results also derive the probability distribution for the masses on the ensemble of flux vacua, exhibiting universal features independent of the details of the compactification.

On de Sitter string vacua from anti-d3-branes in the large volume scenario

Chiara Crino et al.

Summary: This study focuses on de Sitter vacua in concrete type IIB Calabi-Yau compactifications with an anti D3-brane for stabilizing Kahler moduli and complex structure moduli, with exponentially large volume. Analysis of the effective field theory parameters ensures validity of approximations, absence of runaway issues, and satisfaction of consistency constraints in the vacua.

Superradiance in string theory

Viraf M. Mehta et al.

Summary: In this study, an extensive analysis of axion masses and interactions in compactifications of type IIB string theory was performed, revealing that black hole superradiance excludes certain regions of Calabi-Yau moduli space. The study shows that the properties of astrophysical black holes can probe theories with axion masses falling in a superradiant band, unless disrupted by large axion self-interactions. The mass spectrum of axions is largely determined by the Kahler parameters, with constraints on superradiance conditions varying depending on the value of h(1,1).

Anomalous muon magnetic moment, supersymmetry, naturalness, LHC search limits and the landscape

Howard Baer et al.

Summary: This study explores the discrepancy between theory and experiments regarding the muon anomalous magnetic moment, focusing on supersymmetry models with low electroweak naturalness. The results suggest an interpretation within the normal scalar mass hierarchy SUSY model, but demonstrate that the anomaly cannot be explained within the context of natural SUSY or the string landscape.

Distribution of supersymmetry μ parameter and Peccei-Quinn scale fa from the landscape

Howard Baer et al.

Summary: This paper examines two solutions to the SUSY mu problem, one based on the gravity-safe Peccei-Quinn model with a discrete R-symmetry and the other on the Giudice-Masiero solution. Both solutions discuss the distribution of the mu parameter and the setting of the Peccei-Quinn scale f(a).

Landscape Higgs boson and sparticle mass predictions from a logarithmic soft term distribution

Howard Baer et al.

Summary: Recent research on string theory landscape calculations suggests a Higgs boson mass around 125 GeV and sparticle masses beyond the reach of the high-luminosity LHC. Studies on supersymmetry breaking in BB string models indicate a power law distribution for certain stabilization methods, while large-volume scenarios yield a logarithmic soft term distribution. Evaluations of statistical distributions for the Higgs boson and sparticle masses show peaks around 125 GeV with sparticles beyond the reach of the LHC, albeit with softer distributions than those based on a power law.
