Constraints on light vector mediators through coherent elastic neutrino nucleus scattering data from COHERENT

M. Cadeddu et al.

Summary: New constraints on three different models involving a yet to be observed light vector Z' mediator were presented by utilizing recent observations of coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering in argon and cesium-iodide by the COHERENT Collaboration. The results obtained from a combination of data sets were compared with limits from various experiments, showing that the COHERENT data allow for stringent limits in the parameter space of the light vector mediator mass and coupling for the universal and B - L models.

Flavor-dependent radiative corrections in coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering

Oleksandr Tomalak et al.

Summary: This study calculates the coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering cross sections on spin-0 nuclei at energies below 100 MeV within the Standard Model, considering various effects and providing a complete error budget. It finds that the cross section can be predict with competitive precision for low neutrino energies. The research highlights potential applications for the precise cross section prediction, ranging from precision tests of the Standard Model to monitoring nuclear reactors.

The physics potential of a reactor neutrino experiment with Skipper CCDs: measuring the weak mixing angle

Guillermo Fernandez-Moroni et al.

Summary: This experiment aims to detect coherent elastic neutrino nucleus scattering from reactor neutrinos using a kilogram-scale Skipper CCD detector deployed near a commercial nuclear reactor core. By choosing a realistic experimental setup and analyzing various factors, including uncertainties, background rate, total exposure, and reactor antineutrino flux, the experiment may provide a competitive measurement of the weak mixing angle at a few MeV scale with neutrino-nucleus scattering.

A statistical analysis of the COHERENT data and applications to new physics

Peter B. Denton et al.

Summary: The observation of coherent elastic neutrino nucleus scattering in 2017 has allowed for testing Standard Model predictions at low energies and exploring new physics scenarios. It is essential to carefully handle statistical methods when analyzing data in order to derive correct constraints on new physics parameters. A detailed analysis of COHERENT CsI data revealed the necessity of using Monte Carlo simulations to calculate confidence regions for testing new physics scenarios.

Modeling quasielastic interactions of monoenergetic kaon decay-at-rest neutrinos

A. Nikolakopoulos et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the quasielastic scattering of 236 MeV neutrinos on C-12 and Ar-40, with special attention to low-energy aspects of the process. The model describes nuclear interactions using mean-field approach and CRPA framework to incorporate long-range correlations. This research presents future prospects for precision KDAR cross-section measurements and applications in various experiments utilizing these monoenergetic muon neutrinos.

Detecting dark matter with far-forward emulsion and liquid argon detectors at the LHC

Brian Batell et al.

Summary: Research suggests that new light particles may be produced at the LHC's far-forward region and decay into dark matter, which can be detected through scattering. Specific detectors can effectively detect these dark matter events, sensitively probing the thermal relic region of parameter space.

Nuclear de-excitations in low-energy charged-current νe scattering on 40Ar

Steven Gardiner

Summary: This study develops a model for nuclear de-excitations following the reaction of Ar-40(nu(e), e(-))K-40+ and applies it to calculate exclusive cross sections, revealing the significant impact of nuclear de-excitations on energy resolution in liquid argon for supernova nu(e) detection, especially at energies of a few tens of MeV. The MARLEY nuclear de-excitation model, with suitable inclusive cross section calculations, can be readily applied to other scattering processes.
