Light and darkness: consistently coupling dark matter to photons via effective operators

Chiara Arina et al.

Summary: This research focuses on the treatment of fermionic dark matter interacting with photons through dimension-5 and -6 effective operators, emphasizing the use of hypercharge gauge field form factors. The additional couplings to the Z boson predicted by the hypercharge form factors modify the relic density calculation and indirect detection limits for dark matter masses beyond a few tens of GeV. Constraints from the invisible Z decay width may be competitive for dark matter masses below 10 GeV.

On-shell effective theory for higher-spin dark matter

Adam Falkowski et al.

Summary: The study applies on-shell amplitude techniques to the domain of dark matter, defining an effective theory for a massive spin-S particle without invoking fields and Lagrangians. This simplifies the study of theories with higher-spin dark matter particles and provides an efficient way to calculate the rates of processes controlling dark matter production. The methods are demonstrated by exploring scenarios where higher-spin dark matter is produced via the freeze-in mechanism.

Minimal Dark Matter bound states at future colliders

Salvatore Bottaro et al.

Summary: The hypothesis that Dark Matter is an electroweak multiplet leads to predictive candidates with multi-TeV masses that can form electroweak bound states. Bound states with the same quantum numbers as electroweak vectors are of particular interest for resonant production at lepton colliders. With large production rates, details of Dark Matter spectroscopy can be probed using larger statistics, including the pattern of single and multiple gamma lines.
