Comparative transcriptomic analysis between 'Summer Black' and its bud sport 'Nantaihutezao' during developmental stages

Feng Leng et al.

Summary: 4-coumarate-CoA ligase and copper amine oxidase are essential genes contributing to the variations in total soluble solid and total anthocyanin contents induced by bud sport in grape berries. Through RNA-Seq analysis, it was found that these genes play crucial roles in the phenylalanine metabolism pathway, ultimately affecting the organoleptic qualities of grape berries.

Overexpression of VlPRX21 and VlPRX35 genes in Arabidopsis plants leads to bioconversion of trans-resveratrol to δ-viniferin

Sung-Chul Park et al.

Summary: Through transcriptome analysis, it was found that specific peroxidase genes VlPRX21 and VlPRX35 in grapevine cells can catalyze the conversion of trans-resveratrol to delta-viniferin, revealing the mechanism of viniferin production in grapevine cell cultures.

One-pot method based on deep eutectic solvent for extraction and conversion of polydatin to resveratrol from Polygonum cuspidatum

Bo Sun et al.

Summary: A novel one-pot method based on deep eutectic solvent (DES) was developed to efficiently extract and convert polydatin to resveratrol from Polygonum cuspidatum. The extraction yield of resveratrol using DES was significantly higher than traditional solvents. The DES disrupted plant cell walls to enhance resveratrol yield.

Potential application of CHS and 4CL genes from grape endophytic fungus in production of naringenin and resveratrol and the improvement of polyphenol profiles and flavour of wine

Yao Lu et al.

Summary: 4-Coumaroyl-CoA ligase (Al4CL) and chalcone synthase (AlCHS) genes were identified in grape endophyte Alternaria sp. MG1, and their functions were validated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Co-culture of separate S. cerevisiae strains containing AlCHS and Al4CL resulted in simultaneous production of naringenin and resveratrol. Yeast strain containing Al4CL showed potential for improving wine nutrients and flavor by increasing polyphenols, anthocyanins, and other compounds.
