Long-Time Interval Satellite Image Analysis on Forest-Cover Changes and Disturbances around Protected Area, Zeya State Nature Reserve, in the Russian Far East

Chulabush Khatancharoen et al.

Summary: This study focused on exploring the effects of disturbance and forest dynamics around the Zeya State Nature Reserve in the Russian Far East. Using Landsat images, the study analyzed forest-cover-change maps for different periods and used vegetation indices to demonstrate the effectiveness of the protected area in preventing human-based deforestation. The results showed high accuracy in classification for all three periods, with the most disturbance occurring during 2010-2016 and highlighting the need for continued monitoring and protection efforts.
