Summary: The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has raised awareness about preventing the spread of microorganisms, leading to increased interest in research on surfaces that can destroy or inhibit microbial/viral entities. While there is more research available on antibacterial materials, there is a relative scarcity of data on antiviral materials. However, with continued research in this area, new information is constantly being added to the literature, highlighting the potential for breakthrough interventions in mitigating disease spread.
