New Index for Multiple Chronic Conditions Predicts Functional Outcome in Ischemic Stroke

Xiaqing Jiang et al.

Summary: A new index for multiple chronic conditions (MCCs) was developed and internally validated to improve the prediction of poststroke functional outcome (FO). Novel predictors and synergistic interactions were identified. This study provides Class II evidence that the MCC index predicts FO at 90 days in patients with ischemic stroke.

A cross-sectional analysis of trust of information and COVID-19 preventative practices among people with disabilities

Catherine Ipsen et al.

Summary: Trust in information sources is crucial for adherence to public health recommendations during crises, with different demographic groups showing varying levels of trust and compliance. Older individuals and those with higher general trust scores displayed greater adherence to CDC recommendations, while nonwhite individuals, those in nonmetro areas, and those with higher trust in President Trump had decreased compliance. It is essential to provide clear, consistent, and non-polarizing messages to promote community action in public health emergencies.
