Vasileios Lampos et al.

Summary: The study utilizes online search data to infer the prevalence of COVID-19 in multiple countries, showing that online search models can predict confirmed cases and deaths 16.7 to 22.1 days in advance. Additionally, transfer learning techniques were investigated, different querying patterns were compared across countries, and it was demonstrated that web searches can improve the forecasting accuracy of COVID-19 deaths.
