A GPS-Based Framework for Understanding Outdoor Mobility Patterns of Older Adults with Dementia: An Exploratory Study

Sayeh Bayat et al.

Summary: Utilizing GPS data, this study identified significant differences in outdoor mobility between older adults with dementia and cognitively intact older adults. Findings revealed that individuals with dementia engaged in more medical-related activities while cognitively intact individuals participated in more sport-related activities. Additionally, longer daily walking time and outdoor activities at night were associated with cognitively intact individuals.

Identifying Preclinical Alzheimer's Disease Using Everyday Driving Behavior: Proof of Concept

Ganesh M. Babulal et al.

Summary: The study found that driving behavior can serve as a novel neurobehavioral marker to predict preclinical Alzheimer's disease. By adding factors such as age, Apolipoprotein epsilon 4, and neuropsychological measures, the prediction accuracy can be improved.

Moving fluid biomarkers for Alzheimer's disease from research tools to routine clinical diagnostics

Henrik Zetterberg et al.

Summary: Four fluid-based biomarkers have been developed as diagnostic tests for AD pathology, including markers for plaque pathology, AD-related changes in tau metabolism, and neurodegeneration. These biomarkers can be measured in cerebrospinal fluid or blood samples, aiding in the diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment or dementia due to AD.
