Comparative Analysis of Different Definitions of Amyloid-β Positivity to Detect Early Downstream Pathophysiological Alterations in Preclinical Alzheimer

M. Mila-Aloma et al.

Summary: In this study, different approaches to classifying A beta positivity were compared, with CSF-based approaches resulting in higher A beta-positive prevalence than PET-based ones. The CSF A beta 42/40 approach was found to optimally detect significant associations with CSF p-tau and t-tau in the A beta-positive group. It highlights the need for sensitive A beta classifications to study the preclinical Alzheimer's continuum.
