Microbubbles Containing Lysolipid Enhance Ultrasound-Mediated Blood-Brain Barrier Breakdown In Vivo

Oliver Vince et al.

Summary: The study shows that a new formulation of microbubbles containing lysolipids can enhance blood-brain barrier permeability, leading to approximately twofold increase at the highest ultrasound pressure. This modification has the potential to improve drug delivery deep within the brain without the need to increase ultrasound pressure amplitude.

T Cell-Mediated Transport of Polymer Nanoparticles across the Blood-Brain Barrier

Maxime Ayer et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the feasibility of using activated effector/memory CD4(+) helper T cells as carriers for delivering polymer nanoparticles across the blood-brain barrier. In vitro and in vivo experiments confirm the ability of these cells to transport nanoparticles across the barrier, showing the potential for brain delivery in allogeneic hosts.
