Green algae and gelatine derived nitrogen rich carbon as an outstanding competitor to Pt loaded carbon catalysts

Summary: This study investigated porous nitrogen-rich carbons derived from green algae and gelatine as electrode materials for the ORR in energy conversion systems. Results showed that nitrogen-doped carbons were competitive materials with enhanced durability in rechargeable Zn-air battery energy systems, showcasing a promising alternative to noble metal catalysts.
