Equilibrium, kinetic, and diffusion models of chromium(VI) removal usingPhragmites australis and Ziziphus spina-christi biomass

A. E. D. Mahmoud et al.

Summary: This study investigated the removal of chromium (Cr(VI)) using plant biomass, Phragmites australis and Ziziphus spina-christi. The pseudo-second-order model was found to fit the experimental data well with R(2) = 0.99, and the diffusion model played a significant role in the rate-determining step. Isotherm models were fitted in the order of Langmuir > Freundlich > Temkin models, and maximum adsorption capacities were determined for both plant biomass. Insights into biosorption behavior were obtained using various analytical techniques.

Copper oxide nanoparticles for the removal of divalent nickel ions from aqueous solution

Monika Jain et al.

Summary: This study focused on the synthesis of copper oxide nanoparticles by chemical precipitation method for the uptake of divalent nickel ions from aqueous media. The optimum conditions for nickel sequestration were pH = 7.0, initial concentration = 100 mg/L, nanoparticle dose = 0.2 g/L, contact time = 90 min, temperature = 26 +/- 1 degrees C and rpm = 180. These results could be useful for the sequestration of Ni(II) ions from wastewater.

Aerva lanata-mediated bio-treated production of copper oxide nanoparticles, optimization by BBD-RSM method and it behaviour against water related mosquito

D. Devi Priya et al.

Summary: The eco-friendly bio-mediated synthesis of copper oxide nanostructures using Aerva lanata has been optimized and extensively studied through various characterizations. The synthesized CuO NPs exhibit high crystallinity and spherical morphology, showing excellent larvicidal activity against A. ageypti with a significant mortality rate at higher concentrations. The proposed synthesis route holds potential for developing effective drugs against microbial infections in the pharmaceutical industry.
