Extinguishing the dripping flame by acoustic wave

Summary: The effectiveness of flame extinction by acoustic wave decreases as the dripping velocity increases, making the acoustic wave more effective in extinguishing the dripping flame in the early stage. An extinction criterion based on a characterized Damko?hler number was formulated to describe the underlying mechanism, providing important information on the acoustic effect on a moving flame and mitigating the fire hazard of dripping phenomena.
