Fatigue behaviour and design of corroded reinforced concrete beams intervened by ICCP-SS

Mei-ni Su et al.

Summary: The study employed impressed current cathodic protection and structural strengthening intervention to improve the fatigue resistance of degraded reinforced concrete beams. Results showed that the ICCP-SS intervention effectively prevented corrosion of steel reinforcements and significantly enhanced the fatigue resistance of the beams, leading to an improvement in fatigue lives by as much as 202%.

Comparing durability of steel reinforced grout (SRG) and textile reinforced mortar (TRM) for structural retrofitting

Cesare Signorini et al.

Summary: In this study, the tensile performance of Steel Reinforced Grout (SRG) and Fabric Reinforced Cementitious Matrix/Textile Reinforced Mortar (TRM) in various aggressive environments was assessed. Significant differences in performance were observed depending on the aggressive environment, highlighting the importance of careful selection of reinforcing fabric for improved durability. A material selection matrix was proposed to aid in choosing the best reinforcing textile/aggressive environment combination for design purposes.
