Curcumin Nanoformulations with Metal Oxide Nanomaterials for Biomedical Applications

Summary: Researchers believe that curcumin has the potential to become a potential therapeutic agent for multiple diseases, but its inherent limitations have hindered its application. Many studies have been conducted to overcome the issues with curcumin. While organic nanocarriers have been extensively studied, research on curcumin nanoformulation with inorganic nanomaterials remains limited.

Chitosan coated zinc curcumin oxide nanoparticles for the determination of ascorbic acid

Summary: Zinc curcumin oxide nanoparticles coated with chitosan were successfully synthesized and proved to be an excellent nanoprobe for detecting ascorbic acid. The nanoparticles showed high crystallinity and stability at high temperatures. The detection method based on fluorescence emission technique was found to be fast, stable, easy to manipulate, and selective with high recovery rates.

Efficient removal of Congo red using curcumin conjugated zinc oxide nanoparticles as new adsorbent complex

Summary: In this study, zinc curcumin oxide nanoparticles were used for the first time to remove congo red from water, showing high stability and adsorption capacity. The optimization of synthesis conditions improved the stability of the nanoparticles, while the presence of chitosan hindered the adsorption process. Overall, zinc curcumin oxide demonstrated excellent adsorption performance and stability.
