Prediction of lining response for twin tunnels constructed in anisotropic clay using machine learning techniques

Wengang Zhang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the factors affecting the structural forces of twin tunnels using finite element analysis. The results show that the tunnel distance and overlying soil depth significantly affect the bending moment and thrust force of the linings. The degree of anisotropy of the surrounding soil is also crucial in simulating twin tunnel construction.
