Integration of Bi4O5I2 nanoparticles with ZnO: Impressive visible-light-induced systems for elimination of aqueous contaminants

Summary: The synthesized ZnO/Bi4O5I2 nanocomposites exhibit enhanced efficiency in degrading various pollutants under visible light, with the 20% ZnO/Bi4O5I2 nanocomposite showing superior photocatalytic performance compared to single samples and other composite materials. The improved efficiency is attributed to enhanced absorption towards visible light, increased surface area, and enhanced charge segregation in the binary system.

Ultrasound assisted one step in-situ preparation and characterization of rGO-WO3 nanocomposite for degradation of organic dyes

Summary: The present study focused on preparing rGO/WO3 nanocomposite using ultrasound assistance method and investigated the degradation of methylene blue dye under various preparation conditions, with the best performance observed in low HCl concentration, bath sonication, and 40 mg GO loading. Furthermore, the nanocomposite photocatalyst showed varying degradation rates for different dyes, with crystal violet>methylene blue>brilliant green.

Summary: The controlled introduction of oxygen vacancies in ZIF-8-derived ZnO nanoparticles was shown to enhance photocatalytic performance, with the two-step calcination method displaying superior NO removal efficiency compared to one-step calcination samples and commercial ZnO. The presence of oxygen vacancies contributed to the generation of superoxide radicals, ultimately leading to improved photocatalytic activity for NO removal.
