Contamination and health risk assessment of heavy metals in China's lead-zinc mine tailings: A meta-analysis

Xiaoqing Kan et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the contamination assessments, geographical distributions, and health risk assessments of eight heavy metals in China's lead-zinc mine tailings. It revealed that most contaminated areas were located in the southern and eastern regions of China, and children were more vulnerable to the adverse effects of heavy metal exposure.

Analysis of microbial community structure and diversity in surrounding rock soil of different waste dump sites in fushun western opencast mine

Binhui Jiang et al.

Summary: Understanding the correlation between the physicochemical properties of different surrounding rock soil and microbial communities in Fushun western opencast mining is crucial for ecological restoration after mine closure. This study collected soil samples from different areas and explored the effects of soil physicochemical properties on microbial communities. The results showed significant differences in microbial communities influenced by different surrounding rock soils, providing scientific insights for coal mining and microbial-mediated rock mineralization.

Effects of heavy metals on bacterial community structure in the rhizosphere of Salsola collina and bulk soil in the Jinchuan mining area

Tian-Peng Gao et al.

Summary: This study used high throughput sequencing to analyze the effects of heavy metals on rhizosphere microbial community structure of Salsola collina in the Jinchuan mining area, finding that bacterial community in the rhizosphere was more diverse than that in the bulk soil. The results indicate that factors such as moisture, nutrient content, and pH value have significant impacts on the richness and diversity of bacterial communities.
