A study of plasma power effects on surface activation of polystyrene

Summary: This study utilized cyclonic atmospheric-pressure plasma to activate polystyrene (PS) surface and improve surface hydrophilicity. The effects of plasma power on cyclonic plasma surface activation were investigated, showing that cyclonic plasma treatment significantly enhanced PS surface hydrophilicity. Analytical methods such as optical emission spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy were used to determine chemical and morphological variations on the cyclonic plasma-treated PS surface.
