Summary: This study evaluated the efficiency of recovering and quantifying FMDV from different surfaces and aerosols, finding that FMDV RNA was detected in most surfaces, but infectious virus was only recovered at higher concentrations. Recovery was more efficient and consistent from surfaces, while recovery from aerosols decreased with increasing distance.
