Hydrogen production by silica membrane reactor during dehydrogenation of methylcyclohexane: CFD analysis

Kamran Ghasemzadeh et al.

Summary: A comprehensive computational fluid dynamic model has been developed to predict the behavior of a membrane reactor in dehydrogenation of methylcyclohexane for hydrogen production, showing the membrane reactor outperforms the equivalent traditional reactor in terms of complete conversion and high hydrogen recovery rate under different operating parameters.

Density functional theory study on dehydrogenation of methylcyclohexane on Ni-Pt(111)

Chengjing Mi et al.

Summary: DFT calculations were used to study the catalytic dehydrogenation of methylcyclohexane on Ni-Pt(111) catalyst, which showed weaker binding strength between species and surface metal atoms compared to Pt(111). Pt was identified as the main active component in stable adsorption configurations on Ni-Pt(111).

Summary: This study conducted a techno-economic and environmental analysis of MCH dehydrogenation in a membrane reactor (MR), investigating economic feasibility through process simulation and sensitivity analysis, as well as exploring the effects of technical parameters of the membrane on H-2 production costs. Carbon footprint analysis (CFA) was also performed to assess the environmental feasibility by considering CO2 emissions at each part.

Reversible hydrogenation and dehydrogenation of N-ethylcarbazole over bimetallic Pd-Rh catalyst for hydrogen storage

Wenjie Xue et al.

Summary: Hydrogen, a promising candidate to replace fossil fuels, faces challenges in storage. A new reusable bimetallic Pd-Rh nanoparticles (NPs) catalyst shows potential for high-weight% hydrogen storage. The mechanism proposed for NEC hydrogenation over the Pd-Rh catalyst opens avenues for the development of LOHCs as energy vectors.

Pt/CeO2 catalyst synthesized by combustion method for dehydrogenation of perhydro-dibenzyltoluene as liquid organic hydrogen carrier: Effect of pore size and metal dispersion

Sanghun Lee et al.

Summary: In this study, Pt/CeO2 catalyst exhibited a much faster dehydrogenation rate of H18-DBT compared to Pt/Al2O3. The slower dehydrogenation rate of Pt/Al2O3 was attributed to the slow mass transport of liquid H18-DBT into the catalyst pores due to the small pores present in Pt/Al2O3.
