Spray coating of polysulfone/poly(ethylene glycol) block polymer on macroporous substrates followed by selective swelling for composite ultrafiltration membranes

Summary: In this study, an amphiphilic block polymer based on PSF was spray coated onto macroporous substrates followed by selective swelling to prepare flat-sheet PSF UF membranes. This strategy eliminates the need for additional hydrophilic modification and reduces the amount of polymer used compared to conventional methods. The performance of the membranes can be flexibly tuned by adjusting the swelling duration and composition of the swelling bath.
