Parallel computing for the topology optimization method: Performance metrics and energy consumption analysis in multiphysics problems

Summary: The topology optimization method (TOM) is a valuable tool in various scientific fields, traditionally used for small-scale problems due to its high computational demands. This study demonstrates the simultaneous increase in computing capacity and efficiency by programming parallel codes for CPU and GPU. Results show significant speed improvements and energy savings through parallel computing in TOM, enabling higher resolution and multphysics simulations.
