Sensitivity of solar wind mass flux to coronal temperature

Summary: Solar wind models predict a strong correlation between the mass flux carried by the solar wind and the temperature in the corona, which has been confirmed in observations of coronal holes and active regions. In coronal holes, a 50% increase in temperature results in a tripling of the coronal mass flux, while in active regions, a four-fold increase in temperature leads to a 200-fold increase in mass flux.
