Improved performance of inverted type organic solar cell using copper iodide-doped P3HT:PCBM as active layer for low light application

Farah Liyana Khairulaman et al.

Summary: In this study, the effect of doping CuI into the active layer of organic solar cells was investigated. The results showed that CuI doping improved hole collection and reduced charge recombination, leading to higher power conversion efficiency under white LED light compared to undoped devices.

Single-layered organic photovoltaics with double cascading charge transport pathways: 18% efficiencies

Ming Zhang et al.

Summary: By using quaternary blends, double cascading energy level alignment is achieved in bulk heterojunction organic photovoltaic active layers, optimizing light absorption, carrier transport, and charge-transfer state energy levels for higher power conversion efficiencies. The chemical structures of donors and acceptors allow control over electronic structure and charge-transfer state energy levels, enabling manipulation of hole-transfer rates, carrier transport, and non-radiative recombination losses.

Detection and analysis of structural changes in MoO3/Ag heterostructure by ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy

Nikita Vashistha et al.

Summary: The ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy (UFTS) technique was used to detect structural changes in a MoO3/Ag heterostructure due to dewetting and dealloying. Comparative studies of transient absorption behavior of samples exposed to different temperatures revealed changes in phase and crystallinity of the film. Additionally, the study showed how tuning of surface plasmon resonance was observed with etching time.

High performance as-cast P3HT:PCBM devices: understanding the role of molecular weight in high regioregularity P3HT

Naresh Chandrasekaran et al.

Summary: This study investigates the influence of molecular weight on the physical properties of high regioregularity poly(3-hexylthiophene) and its blend with PCBM for bulk heterojunction organic solar cells. It is found that the properties of the blend films for different molecular weights are correlated with the performance of the solar cells. The study provides insights into the performance of polymer solar cells in mass production scenarios where thermal annealing is not feasible.
