A new electrochemical impedance biosensor based on aromatic thiol for alpha-1 antitrypsin determination

Summary: In this study, an impedimetric biosensor was developed to detect A1AT concentration in blood serum, forming an SAM on the gold electrode surface, immobilizing A1AT-specific antibody, and characterizing each immobilization stage using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The results showed that the biosensor could accurately and reproducibly detect A1AT concentrations in the range of 100-600 µg/mL.
