Airway insertion first pass success and patient outcomes in adult out-of-hospital cardiac arrest: The Pragmatic Airway Resuscitation Trial

Jason A. Lesnick et al.

Summary: In adult out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA), the first-pass success (FPS) of airway insertion is associated with increased return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) but not with other outcomes such as 72-hour survival, hospital survival, and hospital survival with favorable neurologic status. The impact of FPS in airway insertion on OHCA outcomes remains unclear.
