This review summarizes the research progress of COF-based materials in different degradation processes and discusses their potential application in industrial wastewater treatment.
The continuous discharge of organic pollutants into waterbody has seriously threatened the health of humankind and natural life. Hence, it is imperative to find solutions to deal with this issue. Catalytic advanced oxidation process (AOPs) has drawn increasing attention due to its remarkable performance in removing low-concentration stubborn pollutants. Many catalysts were developed with high-efficiency. Particularly, covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have been frequently reported as the catalyst or support due to their unique properties. In this review, the research progress of COF-based materials in different degradation processes are summarized, especially emphasizing on the structure-activity relationship between the composite strategy and the catalytic degradation ability. In addition, the potential application of COF-based materials to industrial wastewater treatment is also discussed.
