Colloid retention and mobilization mechanisms under different physicochemical conditions in porous media: A micromodel study

Summary: The study investigates the impact of hydrophobicity, solution ionic strength, and pH on colloid retention mechanisms in porous media. Findings show that hydrophilic colloids have high filtration efficiency under any solution chemistry, while changes in solution chemistry significantly increase colloid retention for hydrophobic colloids.
