Advance Care Planning in Asia: A Systematic Narrative Review of Healthcare Professionals' Knowledge, Attitude, and Experience

Diah Martina et al.

Summary: Despite acknowledging the importance of advance care planning (ACP), Asian healthcare professionals find it challenging to engage in ACP due to various barriers such as lack of knowledge, skills, and standard systems. They recognize the essential role of families in ACP but often struggle to involve patients in the process. Capacity building for ACP in Asia should focus on culturally adapting ACP models, providing education for healthcare professionals and the public, and offering institutional support.
