Comparison of dry needling and trigger point manual therapy in patients with neck and upper back myofascial pain syndrome: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Jennalyn Lew et al.

Summary: This systematic review compared the effects of dry needling (DN) and trigger point manual therapy (TPMT) in patients with myofascial pain syndrome of the neck and upper back. The analysis of six randomized controlled trials showed that both DN and TPMT can improve pain and function in the short to medium term, with no significant difference between the two interventions.
