Eu2O3-doped glass ceramics containing Na3Gd(PO4)(2) exhibit high transmittance in the visible light region and show promising red luminescent characteristics, making them suitable for potential applications in white LED technology.
Eu2O3-doped glass ceramics (GC) containing Na3Gd(PO4)(2) were prepared by melting quenching technology and subsequent heating. In the visible light region, the transmittance of GC can reach 77 %. The emission peaks at 591 nm and 614 nm correspond to energy transitions D-5(0)-> F-7(1) and D-5(0)-> F-7(2), respectively. When the concentration of Eu2O3 is 0.8 %, the chromaticity coordinates (0.6288, 0.3701) are closest to the standard red light. Facts have proved that Eu2O3 doped glass ceramics containing Na3Gd(PO4)(2) is a very promising red luminescent material and has potential application in w-LED.
