Summary: The mechanism of terahertz jet formation by a dielectric cuboid and a sphere surrounded by conducting screens was studied. The position of the screen has a significant impact on the power flux density localization area. Different screen positions affect the direction of the electric field component and power flux, resulting in differences in power flux density and focusing characteristics.

Photonic nanojet generation under converging and diverging beams

Summary: In this study, the properties of the photonic nanojet (PNJ) were systematically investigated by changing the source curvature, including the effective focal length and full-width at half maximum (FWHM). For a diverging source curvature, the effective focal length and FWHM of the PNJ increase with the source numerical aperture (NA) increasing. Conversely, for a converging source curvature, the effective focal length and FWHM tend to decrease as the source NA increases.
