Development of a colorimetric aptasensor for aflatoxin B1 detection based on silver nanoparticle aggregation induced by positively charged perylene diimide

Summary: A sensitive colorimetric aptasensor has been developed for rapid quantification of aflatoxin B1 (AfB1) based on the aggregation and localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). The sensor shows excellent linear response to AfB1 within the range of 0.2-6.0 ng/mL, with a detection limit of 0.09 ng/mL and high selectivity. The innovative method has been successfully applied for AfB1 determination in real samples such as peanut, corn, and chicken feed, with recoveries over 80% and RSD lower than 10%.
