Moire Superlattice-Induced Superconductivity in One-Unit-Cell FeTe

Hailang Qin et al.

Summary: By epitaxially growing single-layer FeTe on Bi2Te3 thin films and tuning its structure, it can transition from nonsuperconducting to superconducting. The structural change in FeTe, likely induced by the underlying Bi2Te3 layer, suppresses antiferromagnetic order and enables superconductivity to emerge. This work highlights the potential of moire pattern engineering in heterostructures for exploring novel materials and material properties.
