Gaia Early Data Release 3 The astrometric solution

L. Lindegren et al.

Summary: Gaia EDR3 provides full astrometric data for 1.468 billion sources, including 585 million with five-parameter solutions and 882 million with six parameters, as well as mean positions at J2016.0 for an additional 344 million sources. Five-parameter solutions are generally more accurate and available for 93% of sources brighter than the 17th magnitude, with median uncertainties of 0.02-0.03 mas for parallax and proper motion at G = 9-14, and around 0.5 mas at G = 20. Extensive characterization of the solutions' statistical properties is provided, including the estimated angular power spectrum of parallax bias from quasars.

Gaia Early Data Release 3 Summary of the contents and survey properties

A. G. A. Brown et al.

Summary: Gaia EDR3 is the early installment of the third data release from the Gaia project, providing astrometry and photometry for 1.8 billion sources brighter than magnitude 21, along with radial velocities from Gaia DR2. The data processing precision and homogeneity have significantly improved compared to the previous version, with additional information on celestial bodies and an updated celestial reference frame.

Solo dwarfs - III. Exploring the orbital origins of isolated Local Group galaxies with Gaia Data Release 2

Alan W. McConnachie et al.

Summary: This study measured the proper motions of distant dwarf galaxies in the Local Group and found that some of them are unlikely to have interacted with the Milky Way or M31. The interaction history of these galaxies will be better constrained in future Gaia data releases.

Hubble Space Telescope Observations of Two Faint Dwarf Satellites of Nearby LMC Analogs from MADCASH

Jeffrey L. Carlin et al.

Summary: In this study, two dwarf galaxies in the halos of Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) analogs were examined using deep Hubble Space Telescope (HST) imaging, revealing their structural parameters and stellar populations. One of the dwarfs showed recent star formation while the other contained mostly ancient, metal-poor stars. These faint dwarf satellites are among the faintest known around host galaxies of LMC mass, and their census will contribute to testing predictions from cold dark matter models and understanding the influence of low-mass hosts on the evolution of satellites.

Solo dwarfs II: the stellar structure of isolated Local Group dwarf galaxies

C. R. Higgs et al.

Summary: The study analyzed the 12 closest Solo dwarf galaxies accessible from the Northern hemisphere, including their distances, spatial distributions, morphology, and extended structures. The results show that most of these galaxies can be well described by two-dimensional Sersic functions, but there are also some galaxies that show tentative evidence of two distinct components. Additionally, no prominent extended stellar substructures were identified in the outer regions of any of the systems examined.
