Extraction of pumpkin peel extract using supercritical CO2and subcritical water technology: Enhancing oxidative stability of canola oil

Summary: The study concluded that the total phenolic content of the pumpkin peel extract obtained by SFE was higher than that obtained by SWE, while the carotenoid content was higher in the extract obtained by SWE. The oil containing a mixture of SFE-SWE extracts showed higher oxidative stability compared to separate extracts, indicating better performance in preventing oil oxidation than TBHQ.

Summary: This study aims to compare the biofunctional properties of wild cultivated ginseng and cultivated ginseng extracts obtained by subcritical water extraction under different conditions. The results show that increasing temperature can lead to higher phenolic concentrations, increased antioxidant activity, and peak protein content in ginseng extracts.

Optimizing the extraction of phenolic antioxidants from chestnut shells by subcritical water extraction using response surface methodology

Summary: This study evaluated the optimal Subcritical Water Extraction conditions for antioxidants and polyphenols from chestnut shells using Response Surface Methodology. The results showed that the best extraction conditions were 30 min/220 degrees C, with excellent scavenging efficiencies against various radicals and no toxicity on intestinal cells.

Recovery of hesperidin and narirutin from waste Citrus unshiu peel using subcritical water extraction aided by pulsed electric field treatment

Summary: This study demonstrated the potential of combining pulsed electric field (PEF) and subcritical water extraction (SWE) for enhancing the extraction of flavonoids from Citrus unshiu peel by-products. The concentrations of hesperidin and narirutin increased with PEF treatment time, and the combination of specific PEF and SWE parameters resulted in the highest extraction yields. PEF treatment increased the amounts of hesperidin and narirutin extracted by 22.1% and 33.6%, respectively.
