3D sub-nanometer analysis of glucose in an aqueous solution by cryo-atom probe tomography

Summary: APT is a well-established technique for analyzing the composition of solid materials with near-atomic resolution. By using a glucose solution, this technique has been extended to frozen solutions to trace whole molecules with sub-nanometre resolution. The study demonstrates the capability of achieving chemical resolution and determining molecule positions in a 3D volume of the solution with high accuracy. The analytical techniques presented in this paper represent a significant advancement in characterizing cryogenically-frozen solutions and biological materials.
