Comparison of different fermentation processes for the vitamin K2 (Menaquinone-7) production by a novel Bacillus velezensis ND strain

Summary: This study isolated and characterized a novel bacterial strain Bacillus velezensis ND capable of producing MK-7. Low-cost substrates were utilized to reduce the production cost, with the highest MK-7 yield achieved through solid-state fermentation. Key genes involved in the MK synthesis pathway were found to be positively correlated with MK-7 biosynthesis under different fermentation processes.
