Summary: In this study, hybrid gelatin/oxidized chondroitin sulfate hydrogels incorporating mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles were developed for bone regeneration. The addition of MBGNs enhanced the mechanical properties and accelerated gelation, while also promoting proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of stem cells in vitro and bone defect restoration in vivo. These hybrid hydrogels show promising potential as injectable biomaterials or scaffolds for bone regeneration applications.

The results showed that hydrogels with a ratio of 25:75 demonstrated the best performance, with rapid gelation behavior and improved mechanical strength, suitable for tissue engineering applications.
