The study demonstrated the successful synthesis of silver nanoparticles using Rosa canina waste seed extracts as stabilizing and reducing reagent, showing promising properties in terms of morphology, size, and antimutagenicity. The green synthesis method showed economic value and potential applications in pharmaceuticals, biomedicine, and biosensors.
In this present study, silver nanoparticles were synthesized using Rosa canina waste seed (RCWS) extracts as stabilizing and reducing reagent. Prepared nanoparticles were confirmed by UV?vis spectrum. The maximum absorbance Surface plasmon resonance, scanning electron microscope (SEM), Transmission electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (TEM-EDS), Fourier Tranmission Infrared (FTIR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). A typical absorption maximum at 440 nm confirmed the formation of AgNPs. SEM analyses have shown that different types of AgNPs have been produced in spherical and rod shapes with an average size of 150 nm. EDX confirmed the existence of silver of synthesized AgNPs. Consideration of antimutagenic of biosynthesized silver nanoparticles of RCWS compared with control assays indicated good antimutagenic properties. The green synthesis methods of silver nanoparticles using RCWS extract were practicable which reused the seed wastes satisfactorily and produced economic values. They could be used in the field of pharmaceuticals, biomedicine and biosensor in near future.
