Research progress on preparation technology of oxide dispersion strengthened steel for nuclear energy

Summary: Nuclear energy is a low-carbon, safe, efficient, and sustainable clean energy source, and oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) steel is considered as one of the most promising candidate materials for fourth-generation nuclear fission reactors and nuclear fusion reactor blankets, with the powder metallurgy process being the best preparation method. The development of high-performance nuclear power materials is crucial for advancing nuclear energy technology.

Hot Rolling vs. Forging: Newly Developed Fe-Al-O Based OPH Alloy

Summary: Two oxide precipitation hardened Fe-Al-O-based steels were prepared by mechanical alloying, with hot consolidation performed by either hot rolling or forging. The influence of consolidation method on grain size, material recrystallization, and mechanical properties was studied. Results showed that forged states exhibited smaller grain size and higher ultimate tensile strength.

Evaluating compressive property and hot deformation behavior of molybdenum alloy reinforced by nanoscale zirconia particles

Summary: This paper focuses on the fabrication of molybdenum alloy bars with varying ZrO2 content and the testing of their compressive properties and hot deformation behavior. The results indicate that ZrO2 particles can significantly reduce grain size and improve compressive properties of molybdenum alloy, with a notable effect in preventing grain growth during dynamic recrystallization.
