Diffusion-regularized susceptibility tensor imaging (DRSTI) of tissue microstructures in the human brain

Lijun Bao et al.

Summary: STI is proposed as an alternative to DTI for non-invasive characterization of brain tissue microstructure and white matter fiber architecture with high spatial resolution. The DRSTI method reduces the number of sampling orientations and generates more accurate tensor components, mean magnetic susceptibility, magnetic susceptibility anisotropy, and fiber direction maps. DRSTI enables more accurate susceptibility tensor estimation with fewer artifacts and better tracking of fiber pathways in in vivo human brain.
