Double diamond structured bicontinuous mesoporous titania templated by a block copolymer for anode material of lithium-ion battery

Qingqing Sheng et al.

Summary: A mesoporous titania scaffold with a bicontinuous shifted double diamond structure is synthesized and shows promising performance as an anode material of Li-ion battery, exhibiting high specific capacity and self-improving feature over charge/discharge cycles. This study overcomes the difficulty in building up ordered bicontinuous functional materials and demonstrates their potential in energy storage application.

Efficient Access to Inverse Bicontinuous Mesophases via Polymerization-Induced Cooperative Assembly

Fei Lv et al.

Summary: Polymerization-induced cooperative assembly (PICA) is reported to efficiently access inverse bicontinuous mesophases within particles consisting of amphiphilic block copolymers (BCPs) and solvophobic copolymers. Through systematic variation of core-forming block/solvophobic copolymer at different CTA molar ratios, PICA promotes the formation of inverse bicontinuous mesophases more effectively compared with PISA. The synthesized BCPs/solvophobic copolymers by PICA have low dispersity and the particle morphology was investigated by TEM, SEM, and SAXS.

Fluorescent polymer cubosomes and hexosomes with aggregation-induced emission

Hui Chen et al.

Summary: The study focuses on preparing fluorescent polymer cubosomes and hexosomes with aggregation-induced emission (AIE) by synthesizing amphiphilic block copolymers in dioxane/water and THF/water systems. The ordered internal structures were studied using electron microscopy and X-ray scattering technique. The research not only inspires the design of novel building blocks for functional cubosomes and hexosomes, but also presents the first AIE fluorescent polymer cubosome and hexosome with potential applications in bio-related fields.
